ART FABRICATION MADE FROM RECYCLED POST INDUSTRIAL PLASTIC
Recently Durat sponsored us by donating several of their sheets of post industrial plastic to make an art fabrication. Here we have designed and made a sculptural interpretation of a Fernand Leger painting titled ‘Three women’ made in 1926. Durat is a specialised, unique solid surface material which contains post industrial plastics and is 100% recyclable.
Fernand Leger was interested in using his urban environment as a reoccurring theme in his paintings, often contrasting the mechanical and the natural. We hoped that by machine cutting the forms from the painting, using this post industrial material would be a modern echo of Legers inspiration.
